London Fashion Week Day 1

PPQ

A bright colour palette has been used in this collection not fitting in with the normal browns/greens for the winter. Subtle French connections have been incorporated within the collection (fluffy forehead hiding berets and sheer pussy bows) which makes the look seem more upper class.  Black point shoes for simplicity , wedged orange boots for a statement piece. Minimalistic cut outs have been included in dresses and shirts without being revealing. There is an 80’s feel throughout the collection, especially in the use of floral skirts/bags which break up the colour blocks for more contrast. A unique use of fur which complete the chic look for the harsh winter warmth, puffball skirts add a summery touch. Smokey eyes seem to be the preference for the makeup with a nude lip (nothing too bold), height appears to be important with the beehive hair combined with the UFO looking hats.

Hot pink, black and white are the main colours featured in this collection. A variety of fabrics and designs are combined in this collection, including puffball skirts, leather pants and a-line pop icon dresses. All of the models are sporting much of the same hair, makeup and shoes. Each model has a bold red lip, sleek hair swooped across one side of their face hiding their left eye, and they're all either wearing red flatforms or a Dr Marten style red boot. I think an inspiration of Japan has been incorporated in parts of the collection, the a-line dress in the 3rd picture (see beside) is made of an edgy splattered design which reminds me of a manga comic.

Other designers for the day include...KTZ, Central Saint Martins MA,Felder Felder, Zoe Jordan, Jean-Pierre Braganza, Bora Aksu, Fyodor Golan, Sass & Bide, Eudon Choi
